SHARE Charlotte hosted their first-ever SHARE Fest event on Thursday, September 22, at the Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont in Charlotte, N.C. More than 150 nonprofit partners attended the event in hopes to connect with service providers who can help their organization thrive.
SHARE Fest provided an opportunity for local nonprofit organizations to meet 18 service providers in accounting, grant writing, event planning, finance, human resources, IT, assessment, photography, graphic design and much more.
Nonprofit veteran Shannon Walker, Advancement Manager for the Carolina Raptor Center, a nonprofit focused on environmental stewardship in addition to rehabilitation of birds of prey, was excited to attend the event and see so many familiar faces.
“I thought that this was an amazing first event for SHARE Fest. I think it just continues to insinuate why we all need to be partners with SHARE Charlotte. They always connect us to great resources and great people who are going to help us tell our stories. The stronger our organizations are; the stronger our community will be,” she said. The Carolina Raptor Center has been a member for ten years and is thankful of the resources that SHARE continues to provide.
Service providers engaged and networked with potential customers.
Tara West, Founder of Experience Bold, an event planning business that specializes in corporate and nonprofit events, met so many new people. She believes that attending SHARE Fest was a great experience. “There’s a lot of nonprofits that don’t have the right help to activate an event. It's awesome to be able to meet organizations that believe that this is a service that they can use,” she said. “Getting to meet so many people that do so much incredible work in the community is amazing and humbling and I just want to help in any way that I can,” she continued.
At the conclusion of SHARE Fest, some attendees won great raffle prizes from service providers.
