Nonprofit Partners to Bring Back The Charlotte Sustainability Summit

Nonprofit Partners to Bring Back The Charlotte Sustainability Summit

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, Charlotte, NC (May 13, 2024) SHARE Charlotte and Carben Events are excited to bring back the Charlotte Sustainability Summit this summer to The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City. This full-day event will include multiple workshops and discussions from different nonprofit organizations, city and county leaders to highlight the impact of collaborative efforts in advancing sustainability in Charlotte.

The Charlotte Sustainability Summit debuted in 2018 and was produced by Sustain Charlotte and UNCC’s Sustainability program. After a pandemic-induced hiatus, SHARE Charlotte and Carben Events are proud to relaunch the event to continue educating Charlotteans on how they can make more sustainable choices.

“Partnering with Casey on this event was such a natural fit due to her experience in hosting the initial summit and deep appreciation for our nonprofit community. We love partnerships that allow us to create opportunities to highlight the amazing work of our nonprofits and the Environmental Ethos that we have in Charlotte” says Melissa Hovey, Managing Director of SHARE Charlotte. “Our mission is to create a better Charlotte by EMPOWERING NONPROFITS AND HELPING PEOPLE invest in their communities in ways that matter most to them.”

Discussions will cover topics ranging from transportation, trails and land conservation, greenways and parks, waste solutions, wildlife conservation, local food and more. The event is presented by Wells Fargo and Albemarle.

“We want to spread awareness of all the hard work being done in our area to mitigate climate change,” says Casey Wilson, owner of Carben Events + Marketing. “Wanting to get involved can be a little overwhelming so we are connecting interested citizens with these nonprofits and community leaders so they can have a better understanding of a variety of sustainability topics and learn easy ways of how they can get involved.”
