Nucor Teammates Making an Impact in Charlotte
Nucor, America’s largest steel producer and the largest recycler in North America, with headquarters based here in Charlotte, is proud of its teammate-focused culture and believes in giving back to our community.
Nucor teammates recently enjoyed a group volunteer activity helping Freedom School Partners gear up for their summer program. Freedom School Partners works with more than 600 student scholars in the summer to build their reading skills and libraries so kids can enter the school year performing at grade level. In order to serve these kids and teachers, it takes volunteers like the Nucor teammates to help in the warehouse sorting thousands of supplies and packing backpacks to be delivered.
The Nucor team is excited to give back to our Charlotte community through volunteerism and is working with SHARE Charlotte to create a roadmap of quarterly volunteer opportunities based on their teammate's interests and passions for community service.
