#RecoveringHope: Hope Haven

“I used and abused drugs for more than thirty years... I lost everything – my home, my family, my job. I lost me.”

Those are the words of MP, a lifelong drug addict who came to Hope Haven with absolutely nothing.

He’s now one of their biggest success stories

And he’s not alone. Hope Haven has helped thousands of Charlotte families break the vicious cycle of drug addiction since 1976.

They house hundreds of local homeless families every year who have members dealing with addiction, and help them on the road to recovery through a variety of crucial services. But counseling is just the beginning. The Hope Haven difference lies in their unique ability to provide safe, reliable housing for struggling families.

Of course all this takes money, and like any non-profit, Hope Haven relies on the generosity of others to help those in need. And the next few weeks offer two excellent opportunities to lend a hand.

Trunk or Treat on October 26th is a fun, free event that lets kids trick or treat from the back of volunteers’ cars. The more volunteers, the better says Hope Haven. So if you went a little crazy stocking up on Halloween candy at Costco this year, please consider registering your car.

Next month also brings Hope Haven’s biggest fundraising event of the year, the Dancing for Hope Gala 2018. Join hundreds of guests on November 17th for an amazing night of food and dancing. It supports an exceptionally good cause and rumor has it they may be serving pigs in a blanket.

Ok, I completely made that last part up, but trust me, the food will be good.

Thousands of former addicts have found themselves through Hope Haven. And with the continued support of people like you, they’ll continue helping families for decades to come.

See you at Dancing for Hope Gala 2056.
