The Science of Thanking Volunteers
Our Non-Profit partners rock when it comes to thanking volunteers. They know it's not just the right thing to do, it's important that volunteers and supporters understand how key they are to the overall mission.
But it's always good to have a little science to back you up! This article featured in Stanford Business School's Center for Social Innovation reports that "gratitude motivates prosocial behavior." Meaning if our volunteers feel thanked, they are more inclined to volunteer with us again.
So next time you're thanking volunteers, you'll know it's both an art and a science. And while we're at it - to our Neighbors and Non-Profit partners: thank you!
