SHARE CHARLOTTE ANNOUNCES New Board Chair
Community and Sustainability Leader to Chair Next Phase of Growth
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (12/15/22) – SHARE Charlotte, a one-stop shop for connecting with 600+ Mecklenburg County nonprofits, today announces a new Board Chair, Rob Phocas.
Rob is the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at AvidXchange, which includes oversight of the AvidXchange’s Foundation and community engagement. He was also most recently the Board Chair of E2D, a nonprofit who focuses on providing devices to help eliminate the digital divide. He received his BA from Vassar College and his JD/MEM from Duke University.
Prior to joining AvidXchange, Rob was the Director of Sustainability for the City of Charlotte for ten years.
A leading voice on sustainability, Rob looks to bring all parties together to create collaborative solutions to community issues.
His leadership in forming the Tech Rising initiative, which is an AvidXchange Foundation signature program, is a shining example of his collaborative work with both the private and public sectors. Tech Rising brings together corporate partners and community organizations across the Queen City to help bridge the digital divide and create economic mobility opportunities for children and young adults.
Rob and SHARE Charlotte have partnered together for the past 2 years hosting the Tech Rising Summit which brings together 150 attendees annually to create Digital Equity in Charlotte through strategic engagement with the Center for Digital Equity, as well as other local government, academic, corporate and nonprofit partnerships.
