Mecklenburg County is proud to support SummerSHARE as on official sponsor for the second year in a row. The County has a history partnering with local nonprofits to deliver critical services, so we know that when people get together and coordinate giving at a larger scale, lasting GOOD can be done for the community.
Just last year, more than 10,000 individual donors and 117 local businesses and community organizations came together to give more than $7 million in value to 235 local nonprofits through the SummerSHARE campaign. We were so grateful to be a part of that campaign and share the opportunity to give with county employees and customers.
SummerSHARE encourages the purchase of tangible items off of Give Shop that nonprofits need the most and gives us the opportunity to give back in a big way.
For example, Crisis Assistance Ministry, one of the county’s lead agencies offering emergency assistance to impoverished families, is one of our partners and is listed in the SummerSHARE Give Shop. Some of their most needed items right now include boys and girls school uniform shorts and polo shirts. Donating these GOODs directly will help nonprofits save operational costs and allows the donor to know exactly how their donation will be used.
The County continues to be a proud sponsor of this work because we know that when you give through SummerSHARE, you are funding with purpose. There is no shortage of need in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community, and when we work together, we all win!
