Wells Fargo Does GOOD for Employees, Customers and Community Amid Crisis
SHARE Charlotte is so grateful for official partner of DO GOOD Week: Home Edition, Wells Fargo, for their support of this year’s celebration as well as all the GOOD they do for the Charlotte community year round and, in particular, now in the face of crisis.
Wells Fargo has taken and continues to take actions to support their employees, customers and the communities they call home during this extremely difficult time, making investments at both national and local levels.
Nationally, Wells Fargo has committed $175 million to help address food shortages, public health needs, small business stability, and housing security for some of the most vulnerable populations. Locally, they will be deploying $3.7 million to support nonprofits in the areas of housing, education, financial security and small business as they recognize these areas will be deeply impacted right here in Charlotte.
Wells Fargo has a comprehensive set of actions they have taken to support their employees amid COVID-19, with a few highlights including:
-
A special one-time cash award to approximately 170,000 U.S. and international employees
-
Granted paid days off and financial support for employees who are managing school system and child care closures
-
Enhanced benefits, including additional paid bereavement leave
-
Updated short-term disability and U.S. medical plans to support employees who may become sick
-
$10 million grant to the WE Care employee relief fund which provides financial resources to U.S. and international employees
Like many other companies, Wells Fargo has chosen to temporarily pause their previously planned volunteer activities, but are evaluating ways for their employees to volunteer virtually and hope to resume their strong volunteer spirit as soon as safely possible.
Additionally, they are encouraging their employees to consider financial giving and leveraging the Community Care Grant program that provides up to $2000 in grants each year for eligible employees who volunteer and lead in our community.
