We spoke with Executive Director, La Becky Roe, about how this program makes such a big impact here in Charlotte. This program was established to help people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their caregivers to maximize their opportunities and life experiences. They offer IEP support, advocacy, behavioral interventions, sensory management support, and corporate training to promote the inclusion of people with ASD in their organizations.

Special Olympics North Carolina offers year-round sports training and competition for nearly 40,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. These athletes inspire greatness through their success and provide motivation to the thousands of coaches, sports officials, local program committee members, and event organizers involved in Special Olympics statewide. SONC offers Olympic-type competitions in 19 sports on local and state levels.
