Laura Ashley gives away hundreds of items to local nonprofits
Laura Ashley, global lifestyle brand known for its iconic floral prints and classic fashion and home furnishings, operates its North American headquarters in Fort Mill, SC.
The Fort Mill office oversees the design and distribution of Laura Ashley products in the U.S and has established a local showroom to archive and display the brand’s collections. Unable to properly distribute incoming samples during the pandemic, the brand accumulated thousands of items that needed to be cycled out of the showroom.
Katrina Moffett, Creative Manager, oversees product development for the brand and has historically sought to donate excess product to local nonprofits. With an abundance of product available to be distributed, Katrina reached out to SHARE Charlotte for a one-stop-shop to connect them to organizations in need.
The brand ended up working with seven different organizations, inviting them to their showroom for a shopping experience. Katrina made sure they were able to provide exactly what they needed by speaking with the nonprofit beforehand.
“It was a great shopping experience for local non-profits and we were honored to provide items for the people they serve,” said Moffett. “We believe it is important to do our part to help worthwhile organizations in our community.”
The Impact:
Nonprofit organizations, such as the Champion House of Care, received women and children clothing for their homeless community. Foster Village Charlotte, received infant clothing and accessories for their families receiving a new foster child. Charlotte Family Housing, received sheets, towels and home goods for their families moving out of homelessness and into homes. There were many other organizations that received items and Laura Ashely is excited to partner again with SHARE Charlotte when they consolidate more of their warehouse space in the spring.
