Nonprofit Holiday Giving Guide:
Aldersgate - Donations to their residents assistance fund and donations of greeting cards sent to residents. Supporting this fund allows you to be a “Guardian Angel” for residents, providing peace of mind during financial hardships. Aldersgate is also asking for greeting cards, sent to isolated residents, which provides emotional support during difficult times.
Youth Villages - Donations of wrapping paper, gift bags, bows, etc. Help support the Holiday Hero program, providing gifts to hundreds of families. Happy wrapping!
Matthews HELP Center - Donations of toys for children ages 0-12 , gift cards for teens ages 13-18, or gift cards of gas/grocery/Target/Walmart for client families. Donations of toys and gift cards allow families who join the Matthews HELP Center Toy Drive to “shop” for their loved ones.
Teaching Fellows Institute - Donations of "Vilros BBC Micro:bit V2 Basic Starter Kit" and Sponsor-A-Teacher. This small computer board is designed for computer program learning for students. Teachers can help spark creativity by working with kids on Scratch, Microsoft MakeCode, Python and Swift. With Sponsor-A-Teacher, sponsorships of $100 or $1000 allow teachers to attend symposiums and workshops at local and national levels.
Changed Choices - Donation of Amazon gift cards. Gift cards allow books to be sent to pre-release clients, who can only receive books via Amazon gift cards.
Camp Blue Skies - Campers and volunteers needed for Camp Thunderbird, Weekend of December 10th-12th. Camp Thunderbird is excited to get back to in-person programming, something that is desperately needed for their population of campers.
Crisis Assistance Ministry - Donations of coats and winter accessories to the Free Store, especially for kids and men. Providing donations such as these allow folks to find what they need and to stay warm so they can focus on providing for their families.
Innovative Learning Inc - Donations of good gift cards, gas gift cards, toys for ages 5-13, coats, hats, gloves, blankets. Ensuring children of families who have lost wages or jobs are able to stay warm and enjoy this holiday season.
Hope Haven, Inc. - Donations of resident gift sponsorships, new or gently used winter coats and gloves for men, women, and children. Helping residents feel the love and support of the community through the holiday season and beyond.
PrettyPonytails - Donations of pajamas, socks, and hair care items for girls ages 1-18. This allows Pretty Ponytails to serve more than 200 local families with their mission.
Families Forward Charlotte - Holiday Virtual Angel Tree. This will ensure that every child and family member in our organization has a great holiday season. Each child is blessed with basics like pjs and socks, along with wish list items. Jumping Dreams - Donations of sweat suits, warm gear, deodorant, and hygiene items for girls. Comfortable athletic gear allows the girls to attend class with appropriate clothing. Hygiene items allow for confidence and comfort.
Pineville Neighbors Place - Toy Drive for Sterling Elementary students, where 90% of the population lives below the poverty line.
The Go Jen Go Foundation - Donation of visa gift cards for Operation Spread Joy. These gifts allow parents to celebrate the season with their children without the stress of shopping for gifts or spending money that needs to go to medical and other unexpected bills.
Healing Vine Harbor - Donation of socks and coats. More of the at-risk and homeless women we serve are asking for coats. We want to provide the ladies what they need so that they are warm and protected from the weather during the winter months.
Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte - Donation of non perishable items to the office or Tiny Pantry. This helps to revitalize communities and provide access to food.
Bright Side Youth Ranch - Donation of 300 square bales of hay and 20 round bales for the winter. Our horses are an essential part of helping a hurting child or teen process their pain and find hope and healing. Providing adequate nutrition over the winter months is essential when grass in the pasture is dormant.
Sanctuary Counseling Group - Followers on Facebook and Instagram. Follow @sanctuarycounselorgroupnc to help spread mental health awareness, gather volunteers for events and help with future fundraising.
Erika's Closet - Toy Drive for children displaced and living in local hotels, providing a sense of normalcy for the holiday season.
Beatties Ford Road Vocational Trade & Family Counseling Center - Volunteers needed to help prepare Thanksgiving Baskets and help prepare for the Toy Drive for students and clients.
Thompson Child & Family Focus - Donations to help support foster youth this holiday season.
The Free Indeed Project of Charlotte, Inc. - Funding support to own the building located at 4822 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC 28205. Serving as a reentry wellness facility for post-incarcerated women and women at risk of incarceration.
Present Age Ministries - Donation of pajama sets for human trafficking survivors. When we first meet a new client, we give them a gift bag of items that they likely need. This consists of toiletries, a journal, socks, a cozy blanket, a pajama set, and a few other items they may need. We have had an influx of clients this last month, so any help is extremely valuable!
Make a Wish Central and Western Carolinas - Write Santa Letters online and $1 will be donated to Make-A-Wish. Use this link to make sure the funds come back to our local chapter in Charlotte!
Anuvia Prevention and Recovery Center - Anuvia welcomes donations of socks, men's and women's underwear, gloves, hats, solid color long-sleeved t-shirts, board games, Uno cards, art supplies, paper, books, adult coloring books, and feminine products for our residential treatment center.
La Escuelita Bilingual Preschool - Educational gifts and books to give to the children at our Posada event, giving a little extra to our hard-working Spanish speaking families for Christmas.
Firm Foundations Youth and Family Outreach - $25 Giftcards for our teenagers who have aged out of Angel Tree programs. This helps reinforce to the teens that they matter and can be included in holiday seasonal giving.
Charlotte Angels - "Adopting" a family for December and provide them a Love Box. Charlotte Angels will provide a list of items the family has indicated are their favorite things.

Roof Above - New blankets, towels, hats, gloves and men's boxers (size large and up) are in great demand during the winter months. Visit RoofAbove.org and scroll through the "Holiday Food and In-Kind Needs" for ways to give.
Raise a Child of the Carolinas - Volunteer with assisiting Chromebrook setup for students. This helps students practice math and ELA, reducing learning loss cuased by the pandemic.
Neighborhood Hope - Gift card drive from now until December 17th. This helps lessen the stress on families of having to pay bills as well as provide a a great holiday season for their families.
Faith Hope & Love Mentoring - In need of mentor volunteers for our studnts, who are behind on grade level and have little support to help them close the gap.
E2D - Elimiate the Digital Divide - Donations of used laptops, corporate or personal. Helping to get computers into the hands of families who are disadvantaged.
Alliance Center for Education - Looking for energetic well-qualified applicants interested in joining the AC4Ed teaching program. The Alliance for Center for Education has a long list of families hoping to be enrolled into this program for educational support.
Supportive Housing Communities - Gift cards in increments of $25. Used to fulfill neighbor's wishes for this holiday season.
Leah's Hopes and Dreams - Donations for support of 30 families this season who are either homeless or unable to provide gifts for their children.
Champion House of Care Project One Inc - Hosting of a kid's toy drive. You can make an impact and put a smile on a child's face.
