Nonprofit Holiday Giving Guide:

Aldersgate - Donations to their residents assistance fund and donations of greeting cards sent to residents.  Supporting this fund allows you to be a “Guardian Angel” for residents, providing peace of mind during financial hardships.  Aldersgate is also asking for greeting cards, sent to isolated residents, which provides emotional support during difficult times.

Youth Villages - Donations of wrapping paper, gift bags, bows, etc.  Help support the Holiday Hero program, providing gifts to hundreds of families.  Happy wrapping!

Matthews HELP Center - Donations of toys for children ages 0-12 , gift cards for teens ages 13-18, or gift cards of gas/grocery/Target/Walmart for client families.  Donations of toys and gift cards allow families who join the Matthews HELP Center Toy Drive to “shop” for their loved ones.

Teaching Fellows Institute - Donations of "Vilros BBC Micro:bit V2 Basic Starter Kit" and Sponsor-A-Teacher.  This small computer board is designed for computer program learning for students.  Teachers can help spark creativity by working with kids on Scratch, Microsoft MakeCode, Python and Swift. With Sponsor-A-Teacher, sponsorships of $100 or $1000 allow teachers to attend symposiums and workshops at local and national levels.

Changed Choices - Donation of Amazon gift cards.  Gift cards allow books to be sent to pre-release clients, who can only receive books via Amazon gift cards.

Camp Blue Skies - Campers and volunteers needed for Camp Thunderbird, Weekend of December 10th-12th.  Camp Thunderbird is excited to get back to in-person programming, something that is desperately needed for their population of campers.

Crisis Assistance Ministry - Donations of coats and winter accessories to the Free Store, especially for kids and men.  Providing donations such as these allow folks to find what they need and to stay warm so they can focus on providing for their families.

Innovative Learning Inc - Donations of good gift cards, gas gift cards, toys for ages 5-13, coats, hats, gloves, blankets.  Ensuring children of families who have lost wages or jobs are able to stay warm and enjoy this holiday season.

Hope Haven, Inc. - Donations of resident gift sponsorships, new or gently used winter coats and gloves for men, women, and children.  Helping residents feel the love and support of the community through the holiday season and beyond.

PrettyPonytails - Donations of pajamas, socks, and hair care items for girls ages 1-18.  This allows Pretty Ponytails to serve more than 200 local families with their mission.

Families Forward Charlotte - Holiday Virtual Angel Tree.  This will ensure that every child and family member in our organization has a great holiday season.  Each child is blessed with basics like pjs and socks, along with wish list items.  There is also an option to provide gift cards which help with emergency food needs and incentives for goals accomplished.  Click here for the Virtual Angel Tree Lists: Kids Wishlist Kids Basic Adults

Jumping Dreams - Donations of sweat suits, warm gear, deodorant, and hygiene items for girls.  Comfortable athletic gear allows the girls to attend class with appropriate clothing.  Hygiene items allow for confidence and comfort.

Pineville Neighbors Place - Toy Drive for Sterling Elementary students, where 90% of the population lives below the poverty line.

The Go Jen Go Foundation - Donation of visa gift cards for Operation Spread Joy. These gifts allow parents to celebrate the season with their children without the stress of shopping for gifts or spending money that needs to go to medical and other unexpected bills.

Healing Vine Harbor - Donation of socks and coats.  More of the at-risk and homeless women we serve are asking for coats. We want to provide the ladies what they need so that they are warm and protected from the weather during the winter months.

Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte - Donation of non perishable items to the office or Tiny Pantry.  This helps to revitalize communities and provide access to food.

Bright Side Youth Ranch - Donation of 300 square bales of hay and 20 round bales for the winter.  Our horses are an essential part of helping a hurting child or teen process their pain and find hope and healing. Providing adequate nutrition over the winter months is essential when grass in the pasture is dormant.

Sanctuary Counseling Group - Followers on Facebook and Instagram.  Follow @sanctuarycounselorgroupnc to help spread mental health awareness, gather volunteers for events and help with future fundraising.

Erika's Closet - Toy Drive for children displaced and living in local hotels, providing a sense of normalcy for the holiday season.

Beatties Ford Road Vocational Trade & Family Counseling Center - Volunteers needed to help prepare Thanksgiving Baskets and help prepare for the Toy Drive for students and clients.

Thompson Child & Family Focus - Donations to help support foster youth this holiday season.

The Free Indeed Project of Charlotte, Inc. - Funding support to own the building located at 4822 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC 28205.  Serving as a reentry wellness facility for post-incarcerated women and women at risk of incarceration.

Present Age Ministries - Donation of pajama sets for human trafficking survivors.  When we first meet a new client, we give them a gift bag of items that they likely need. This consists of toiletries, a journal, socks, a cozy blanket, a pajama set, and a few other items they may need. We have had an influx of clients this last month, so any help is extremely valuable!
